FOUNDER'S NOTE

As a little girl, I always wondered why women and men aren’t treated the same way. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit us and a rise in domestic violence cases was noticed, I spoke to a friend and decided to start my own Girl Up Club. My aim was to help young girls and women find their voice, realize their potential and break free of the burden of societal norms and stereotypes. Being the Founder of Girl Up Imkaan gave me the opportunity to learn a lot more about the issues surrounding us and also gave me a chance to bring about a change in my community by helping people understand that feminism is not about superiority, it’s about equality. It’s about uplifting women to a point where they are just as seen and respected as men are. 

Starting Girl Up Imkaan was my way of making an impact, changing the world, one life at a time.

I trust my team to work towards Girl Up Imkaan’s aim and reach unimaginable heights. All my support, guidance and love will always be with my team.
